What is purpose of wait times after raid opens?

Is the purpose to say get on now it’s ready but wait for later time to auto. Or is it meant to give players time if they r late to attack a change for that?

Exactly - Yeah you have 24 hours to hit join so you post a zero. If you want to do better than that, these days in PIT you have about 6 minutes from go live before the first solo runs are done. With a 20 minute timer on solo posts, that at least gives others a chance to do some damage (or start their own solo runs).
