The time wasn't wrong (except maybe for OP at 2am). They went live at midnight server time local time. If that's confusing, well of course it is. Midnight is only midnight for 6 months a year. The other 6 months it's either 11:00PM or 1:00AM.
This is because everything is based on 24 hour timers, not actual time. So when you first get to arena, payout is 6:00PM, and then every 24 hours after that. Same for daily resets and bonus energies. That's why when the time changes, your payouts are still 24 hours from the last one. It's silly, but such is life.

He doesn't say midnight server time (and if he does, that won't mean anything to a lot of people) - so he should communicate more accurately.
He may not be technically wrong, but he's also not 100% right, and it's an example of inaccurate communication that causes confusion ... that was meant to clarify a previous inaccurate communication.
As far as CG is concerned, he is 100% correct. If you ask them about times, they will say my daily refresh is at midnight even though it is actually currently at 1:00AM. It is not a communication issue, it is an issue on our end where not everyone understands how the time actually works in game (and that part is CG's fault).
