Actually, there weren't any ships on day 1. The actual character asked for on day 1 was Jedi Knight Luke, which we eventually go.
CG hinted at Red5 several years ago, before we even had the Profundity.

I like the new bad batch squad thank you very much, though I think cg messed them up a bit. Red5 would be an amazing add to the game but that doesn’t mean that BB S3 fans shouldn’t get new characters.
I agree with the last part of what you said. I'm kind of neutral about the new BB. I could think of a number of characters that I'd be excited about, but I have nothing against BB 2.0 being added, and I certainly do not consider myself the most important person in the world that I can demand that X character be added instead of Y because I like X much more.
Actually, this somewhat reminds me of a post from half a year or so ago, I think it ended up being deleted. The poster demanded that Red 5 be added and that everyone who isn't the main character of the OT be removed from the game since they think secondary characters are just a waste of screen time, or something like that. Then any time someone tried to have a rational discussion, the OP started insulting them left and right, saying stuff like "the OT is the only canon media, they should only focus on that, the Clone Wars and the PT don't exist", "why should we waste our time with characters like Bossk or [...], they don't add anything to the story", "I spend money on the game, I have a full right to make requests". Like, for real dude, you decide to spend money, fine, but in no way does that mean you get to act like the man in charge. That's like saying that just because you're a regular customer at a supermarket, you get to automatically tell them what kind of products they should be selling. There's a difference between sharing an opinion and having an ego the size of the Eiffel Tower.
