Why are Jawas Light Side?

They kidnap sentient droids, enslave them through the use of restraining bolts, then sell them as if they legitimately owned them. These are the good guys? No thanks.

If the Jawas were also scoundrels, you could maybe, maybe see it - after all, Han Solo frequently worked for the Hutts and was considered Light Side, at least after he thought about it and made a choice to live for something other than money.

But Light Side non-scoundrels? That's just wrong.

If you had some Dark Side jawas and some other Light Side jawas, then also you could maybe see that. It's an entire race of who-knows-how-many beings. They can't all be bad.

As it is, however, the game seems to think that Slavery and Theft are things that the Good Guys™ do.

Sorry, but I don't want to live in a universe where Slavery and Theft are the behaviors of people we hold up as the good guys.

  • Actually, now that I think about it they continued to want to eat C3P0's friends even after they thought of Threepio as a god. A feast in Threepio's honor, IIRC.

The jedi of old wouldnt hesitate on using jedi mind tricks to swindle parents into giving up their force sensitive offspring to the order, how many families have they torn apart with those malicious activities
  • Okay, but does that include any of the specific Jedi who appear in this game? It was my understanding that these Jawa characters were supposed to represent Jawas on Tatooine when Luke was growing up there. In particular, Dathcha was a member of the Jawa band that enslaved Threepio and R2.
