Even IF we all had him now at 7*, what great difference does it make?! Not one character in this game is so incredible. There is a counter to everything.
Even IF they gave a character at 7* away for free, it would still take great investment of resources to get it up to a high standard. Point being: everything in this game is something, or nothing at all. To me BB8 is just another character that I will get eventually, but will be obsolete in no time.
