I don't know I think you're just extremely unlucky, I've never experienced a drought like that. I've never gone more than a couple weeks without one, I don't track my drop rates so I'm not really sure how accurate that statement is.
P.S. in my extemely scientific and in depth study, I've found that when you don't obsessively track drop rates, you tend to be happier with what you get
