Yes exactly that, Just send him in do your stuff then start to pull him out when Grievous has around 11 turns left. That should be more than enough time to get him out. Occasionally you will have just plain bad luck but with CLS being so fast the turns just roll on by and it's rare that you won't get 3,4 or even 5 good attempts with him.
