6 star r2 magmatrooper is fine but turn meter removal is disabled in the final tier of the event. This weakens tarkin and zeta Vader leadership too but they have other good things about them.
Snow trooper might be a good choice as he is a required character in dstb missions too. Royal guard is another option. Some people like having two tanks for the mission to buy their damage dealers time. If you go for either of these make sure to spend all your ally points opening bronzium as they are occasional drops there.
