Advantage vs Crit Immunity

So it seems that vs crit immune targets, advantage is not consumed. However it is apparent that aoe consumes advantage even if some targets are crit immune. https://youtu.be/-ggfPEG3rw0

Why did jka hit your rex with crit though he was immune?
