Basically, when fights were faster and characters had lesser HP, his buff on the death of an ally was more significant and had a hand in changing the tide in a fight. now that fights are longer and HP is much higher, his buff is rather insignificant for the loss of an ally.
Also, while it takes a long time to kill, his AOE death effect takes a much longer time to proc now. and with the current dooku meta, it's too niche a condition to proc and easily ruined by the dooku lead RNG.
still has a nice HP at gear IX. basic attack is decent utility since it prevents taunt. but totally not worth the farm for his shards and his gear. he's one of the worst possible now. i didnt even need him to be OP, just decently viable like before would have been enough for me to want to max him out and try to make it work.
This is very sad for me to see. When I first started, I was lucky enough to have an ally with a maxed Anakin (lvl60 at the time) but I was just starting out, so that was great! Fast forward 4 months, I have a 6*, 1/4to 7* Anakin. I have farmed his nodes every day since I unlocked them. Now, I see they added him to cantina, and I was stoked! FINALLY there was going to be an additional place to farm my Anakin... Then I used him after the update, and I see him hitting like Barris used to.... I'm thinking its because he isn't 7*. Some toons the difference in 6* and 7* isn't that very much, some toons the differences are SIGNIFICANT. Here I am thinking he is one of those that that extra star makes all the difference on... And now I see your post... Are you suggesting I stop farming my Anakin? The only other toon that I farmed hard nodes for daily, I was forced to abandon due to this update... FOTP. But man, that kills me about Anakin.

I got Anakin to 7 about a week and a half ago. I can't use him anymore, don't even like putting him as leader in the challenges because he makes it a slow auto. I would recommend everyone who is farming him to stop. Unfortunately he is just worthless now, his kit makes no sense considering the update, and he's an attacker who hits like Barriss. I saw a post where someone wrote down the average damage from his basic, including crits, and it came out to 2033, He hits like pod racer Ani now, and unfortunately has no place on a competitive team. Finish him when he opens up in cantina, or because you love Ani. Don't do it if you need a toon who is useful.
