Happens to me regularly. Basically it means that you losing is decided, not by skill or strategy, but by whether the game allows it this particular time, or not.
RNG, fine to use for reward box contents etc, but as a combat mechanic is truly a lazy, appalling decision.
It's also because of RNG that Arena is so stale, just facing so many of the same team, because they have the least RNG associated actions.
If they made it so that Potency & Tenacity, whichever one is higher makes the debuff work, or not.
Then people would need to have cleansers, healers playing a bigger role, more different teams for different opposition coming into effect, rather than the **** existence of a "META".
If there is a META, then the devs have failed to make the game competitive, varied or balanced.
Ask yourself: How many characters in your roster would you consider using in Arena?
I wager it's a relatively small number of the total toons that you own.
Yep, it would be nice if the other stats had a bigger impact, but as it is, I just put whatever mods have the highest speed secondary on my characters. If it has potency or protection, awesome. If not, I’m still using it because speed trumps everything else. So many fights are determined simply by who has that one character with higher speed than your one character. In these zEP battles it often just comes down to is your Vader faster than your opponents Vader.
