against zEmpire, yes (surprisingly, GK isn't the MVP tank in this squad setup).
if you attack an empire squad, Vader always goes first and uses force crush, instantly filling Ben's TM so he can use mind tricks or taunt. All GK would do is sit there, slowed, debuffed and on his first move use his cleanse, remove 100 force chokes and fill the Empire Squad's TM.
i suspect the background of your question is "i don't have GK" (or at least not arena ready) - GK is useable, just not against zEmpire.
