Battle timeout issue

once, when I was battling in the last minute, I was 5vs1 and my nihilus had his annihilate ready, but was not his turn
suddenly my phone with low battery went in save battery mode.. it took me about 30 sec to quit the save battery mode, reactivate wifi and reopen the game app... I had just the time to do an attack with the toon which turn was, see the enemy counterattack and when my nihilus had his turn the battle ended in a "even"...
how my phone battery can influence the "control of the battle"?
it surely changed the " win" in a "even" but I don't see how this can be related to the "control"
