Best Mid-Game Squad Arena Team

Question

Hey guys with the two legendary events coming up in September I am wondering if it would be better to focus on an empire team or a Jedi team for squad arena https://swgoh.gg/p/757638974/characters/. I'm level 73 and looking to graduate from my Pheonix Squad. The teams would be:

Empire: Thrawn, Vader, Palp (7*), TFP, Tarkin

Jedi: Bastila, GMY (5*), Ezra, Kanan, Old Ben/Ahsoka

I am already set to get Palp 7* and have done some gearing on empire units. I can get 5* GMY with heavy farming on Bastila and Old Ben, but only Ezra and Kanan have any gear. Which will give me a stronger lineup in Squad Arena? Which one wins in a head to head (Since a lot of my shard will probably be swapping to one of these teams)?

I still have a ways to go until zetas, but if the best team changes pre/post zetas that would be good to know too.

Bastila lead is a hard counter to Palp lead. Plus she's needed for Jedi Revan. I'd say run a Bastila lead but can't say much without seeing your acc.

I'd say bastila lead.Except, if you are up against DR no Malak use zPalp /w BSF.

Both are good options, but Yoda really needs G12 to have survivabilty.

I ran zEP Empire at G11 similar team to yours, with the only zeta on EP for a longgggggggg time (all the way until I got Revan), and I almost always got under 200 even long after the Revan meta started. You just need a lot of speed on them and run them under EP with his leader zeta, that zeta is huge.

I tried Bastilla for awhile but my EMP team was better overall, around the time my Bast team was more geared was when I got JKR. GL

Ep team that beats bastilla consistently enough needs nihilus and sion. Even at lower stars (like 4stars) sion with zeta, zEp, Vader, Thrawn, and nihilus was what I ran until I got Jkr, and would be top 100-200 in my shard. After JKR and now DR/Malak, I'm living in the top 50, but still

Nightsisters are another option. They can do pretty well against most teams on offense, and are difficult to counter in the mid-game, since most people seem to skip Imperial Troopers until much later.
