Just start grinding phoenix asap, like right now. Even freshly unlocked 2-3* their synergy alone would smoke your current team. I just started fresh and have most to 6* in less than a few weeks.

I'd only focus your energy on these guys moving forward. With Ezra I would star him first then work on Hera, then Ezra then Hera and so on.
