This is how I split them up:
Veers (L)
Starck
Range
Shore
Snow
Gideon (L)
Death
Dark
Piett
Storm
Storm is great with Piett, and Storm gets synergy with Imperial Remnants. Snow goes best with Veers, Shore and Range add buffs to add TM under Veers and both teams work really well
And yet, if you combined elements form both get a team that far surpasses either you have posted.
And then I'd have multiple characters that have no where to go afterwards. Brilliant
Depends on what you want to do with them. Taking out one very good team could be more important that taking out 2 good teams.
And I always leave them for offense so I can choose any combo I want anyways
