Honestly the way to beat GAS mirror matches is simply to be the team on offense. As long as everyone on the team is at least reliced then you can pretty much force Fives to sacrifice and it should be a cakewalk no matter what.
But it isn't necessarily better to be slower, that just usually means the slower GAS has either more offense or more defense and that's what's making the difference.
