Bonus protection and protection up

No. (Or AFAIK) protection up is a Buff. Bonus protection is (for lack of a better term) a temporary stat increase.
Compare Bastila Shan lead that grants (undispellable, so it appears with a lock icon on the buff) protection up or GMY unique that grants protection up -both of these have a visible icon that vanishes upon being consumed or (in GMY’s case) after a certain amount of time to Enfys Nest Bonus protection when being hit. Both give a visible increase to the protection bar above the character, but Nest doesn’t have the Green buff icon.

The swgoh.gg mechanics appear to support this, as Rey grants “Shield”, but Young Hanks ability only triggers if it finds ‘shield_buff” or “special_shield_buff” at the start of his turn.
(Following my above, Bastila grants “special shield buff” and GMY grants “shield buff”).
