As Mochi said, it's also Dengar's payout which causes other allies to assist when an ally uses a special. His payout does not always mean he is the one assisting or being assisted.

Dengar’s payout actually has a 60% to call him to assist when an ally uses a special ability, not a random ally. And he needs to be stealthed.

Dengars basic has a 60% chance to call an ally to assist if the targeted enemy has a debuff.

Dengar is usually stealthed, so maybe your not noticing all the assists.



Bossk has an assist attack, as well, but I'm sure you'll notice when that is used.

Okay, you're right. What's happening is that Dengar's Payout gives hima 60% chance to assist when another Bounty Hunter uses a special ability. He also has a 60% chance to call an assist with his basic if the target is debuffed. Since many BH specials inflict debuffs, there's a good chance you'll see that second assist. This is why you sometimes see Bounty Hunter squads go crazy with assists.
