Can someone explain stun to me

Hi guys,

So in the arena, I stun an enemy target today it was R2, when there turn meter is full they simply take there turn as normal, I thought they where to miss a turn once stunned.

If you stunned him, it means another character interacted with him and cleansed him.

JTR cleansed him on his special, and you missed seeing that. Then r2 took his turn as usual.
