Character Star combined into Ships?

Question

So I know character GP is factored into ship performance, but could a gear 11 3* Bossk do well with a maxed HT? I'm sort of maybe kinda farming his ship before the toon (I have reasons). Basically, will it be a bad ship without the extra gear level and stars on Bossk?

You should be fine with that gear and a maxed ship. He'll get much stronger over time, but he's a unique character anyway

I have a 5* bossk (don't ask) and a maxed out HT. I've gotten top five in ships. It's doable.G11 gear is important.
