Old Ben's Zeta Taunt should last 1 turn through Fracture.
The old gif just wasn't clear that Thrawn immediately started another turn and dispelled Fracture.
So WAI and makes 100% sense based on the facts presented in the mechanics that taunt is reapplied before fracture and buff immunity.
