that just means there are alot of active people on your leaderboard, and that those active people can all beat eachother (wich is rather easy since AI sucks donkeyballs). Doesn't really matter if it's an old or new leaderboard or even if they all got g8 toons or g12 toons.
I'd also like to note that alot of people like to overexagurate the toughness of their shard ;)

Lol I can't even remember the last time I was 30+ . I'm on as old of a shard as you can be on, my over night drop from first is 8 - 17 once in a while maybe 22

You feel u are average player?
Oldest shard there can be and you get 1st.
Tells me you are pretty strong.
Yet u still drop 8 to 17 spots.
So if I am not quite as strong as you and I drop to 30th, that's not bad
