With Rebels you still have to gear everyone once you get them. I get you have to add new content, but C3P0 was new content! Chewbcacca was new content! Both of which are extremely arduous to acquire. How can you say technically it’s easier to get Rebels?!
You can't beat the nodes to get all the characters for revan on day one. It takes a few weeks or a month to get that far. Usually new players farm Phoenix during that time but you could start the cls farm during that time.
