Commander Luke rebel team

I'm currently working on commander Luke and real han solo as the backbone of my rebel team. I have Biggs and Wedge moderately leveled to be f2p, so I was thinking Luke, Han, Biggs and Wedge, and old Ben... until I power up threepio and chewie, and also use r2d2. My question is, should I just wait till I power up 3po and chewie and skip the wiggs portion? Btw, y'all use so many acronyms, it's hard for a noob to keep up. I have what I have being f2p since October, so if it's best to wait, I'm patient. I hoarded gems for shaak ti for months. https://swgoh.gg/p/916941392/characters/

Little bit of a necro since it took me a couple weeks to get commander luke. A couple more pits and I'll have raid han, so, luke, raid han, r2, wedge and biggs is what I was thinking to begin with.

Is there any reason to go for c3po before chewbacca? Chewbacca will take me longer (my bounty hunters are pretty much non existent) but, as i said, I'm patient. So I was thinking Luke, han, r2, chewpio and l3-37 until I get chewbacca or c3po. I saw some people say they had good results with l3-37 because of benefiting han, chewbacca and r2. Would luke, han, chewbacca, chewpio and l3-37 be a viable team? Seems most of the luke teams are glass canons. Thanks.

If you need a tank, I would rather go for Old Ben. L3 is good and plug&play, but OldBen is better with rebels and later also with Jedis.

Agree. Before 3po and chewpio, Old Ben was the go-to for CLS. He actually does really good in that squad, and has some synergy with CLS through his Mind Tricks special.

I would also get Chewie before C3po. Both are necessary, but Chewie has the biggest impact. The squad kinda works without C3po, but it really does not work without Chewie.
  • Thanks for the input. Old Ben is in a better spot for me anyway due to the commander luke battles. If not running a tank, is that why r2 seems to get dropped in favor of chewpio due to his smokescreen not being as beneficial while adding chewpios unique?

CLS team is by design an all-attack squad relying on turn-meter manipulation to stay ahead of the opponent (not as extreme as a trooper team but same mechanism). If used correctly defense capability is not a priority as the squad is supposed to take little dmg if at all. That's why R2 is not contributing much to maximize the squad's core strength. Old Ben is favored not because of his tanking quality but rather the extra TM control he provides with his mind trick special (ability block is also nice). Chewiepio is great because his constant assists and the extra control with his first special, which paired with the TM manipulation allows a CLS team to take down a Padme team, which used to be untouchable to CLS.

Chewpio's 2nd special is rlly good when zeta'd. After 1 or 2 kills, he can wipe out a team.

Also, I'd recommend to, instead of Cad, farm Bossk
