But that wouldn't explain him being in battle at 3 minutes and still seeing himself in 1st.
This is actually a minor bug in fleet arena, I believe. If you get defeated while you're in the menu, your visible rank won't refresh properly, although your avaliable targets will. Not really a major problem, but it can be confusing.
