In a turn-based game, going first is the obvious initial strategy. Swapping disks to adjust from that initial strategy to other strategies *made available* using premium currency from the rewards of the event is prohibitive to that adjustment, though available (made available not “given”: 1. I didn’t know what the new disks did before the event, 2. I don’t know enemy stats to help prepare, 3. Not guaranteed to pick up the “entrenched” disk due to RNG on disks, better options could always be in the same nodes as entrenched even if I knew “just add protection” was a successful strategy)
It is also apparent to me that the difficulty of the event comes from the enemy team’s speed (“steadfast retribution” aside), hence finding methods to beat their speed is less cost prohibitive to try (swapping mods is cheaper than swapping disks). Going into next round your argument becomes 100% valid because we know the disks and we also know that Ewoks can be tuned to over 550 speed (after the rebalancing).
To be clear I did max the event, but I don’t dismiss the choices players have to make to beat or mitigate the “eye-rolling” speeds presented. Let us see enemy stats to help people succeed. 10 swaps are available from currency in each future event (not this one, unless you hoarded) if you max out the reward (between T5 & T6 crate and beat all missions) and choose all CAT shards. It’s possible, just costly especially when considering someone is struggling to clear all nodes in the first place.
