I agree with you 100% - but I also agree with the point that it's eyeroll-inducing for CG to fall back on "just make everything super-fast" as a way to make things "challenging". Speed is, was and always will be king - especially if the developers themselves use it as a design crutch.
Doesn't this kind of highlight the fact that "speed is not actually king" every time?
If you can't outspeed the enemy team anyway, it means you need to focus on other stats like tankiness for the opening wave for instance. It would actually promote speed if you absolutely needed to outrun the enemy team in order to win.
