Because he wasn't truly trained in the ways of the sith. Just because he has a red blade doesn't make him a sith.

Ren is a darkside user, not a sith.

Being a dark side force user doesn't make you a Sith. Sith is a specific faction or organisation. All we know for now is that he is part of the faction called Knights of Ren. Once others of the knights are known then Kylo will probably get that tag.

I'm hoping for (though not counting on) a Sith tag after the release of the new movie. I guess it depends on where they take him with Episode VIII
