Defense Mods

Do you guys know how the defense actually applies? So let's you GK lead, which grants GK 70% defense and then he has 2 defense mod sets for an additional 10%. How does that impact armor, resistance and ultimately damage taken.

For simplicity sake, if someone hits for 10k, what would that mean in terms of damage he takes?
