Droids will still be viable because every toon will now land on the same gear level at max gear. This actually helps droids.

Well, being third on arena is not much an achievement mate ;-) I have been playing droids for a while but switched a while ago, when started falling too low overnight. Droids are still viable but in my opinion not that good on defense anymore. Still, it depends on your shard actually.

Having said that, you really feel GG performs better than 88? I found 88 to be more useful with applying ability block and hitting harder than GG after several debuffs have landed. But if you feel better with GG that is fine with me ;-) He is not a bad toon - for me he is a disappointment considering the amount of time and effort needed to farm him. He should make a difference for droids and in my opinion he does not. I wish he had HK leader skill - that would be something ;-)

The main point is nothing holds on defence even wiggs combo falls down the ranks, droids never could really hold position but as long as you have the fire-power to continually take first and make others avoid hitting you you're fine. I'm using 88 so not sure what you're going on about. Obviously the raw damage from 86 is a nice combo but I took a chance with grievous based on having a more squad utility feel also based the choice on 86 will fall off based on gear level so if I can maintain rank at the same then I'll be in a better place once I reach higher gear. This was all planning months ahead but the main part is you can win and have fun still and he will only improve. As another said potentially even ig100 would be a nicer option now over 86 based on having a wider utility and that was before factoring in the gear droppoff 86 now has. 86 is still a raw damage beast but the potential for others to be better now is worth risking specially cause we can still win regardless.

My bad - thought you use 86 not 88 ;-) My eyes are not that good anymore ;-) I preferred 86 over GG when I used droids because of that nasty Fives and other counter teams. Assist gave required burst and was a bit less painfull against Fives. Another reason was that everyone wanted to play against still rare GG and I was falling more than with 86 ;-) Still GG is a decent toon - but I was disappointed because he should be better considering time and resources required to 7* him. He should have some unique giving him something special - like in Wiggs case. Btw, his unique can be a pain sometimes - I hate when it happens that JE taunts for GG ;-)

86 needs to go to the bench first
88 is the easiest to kill and biggest damage dealer, but JE is the straw that stirs the drink. Go JE then 88.
