Chewbacca's assist is stated as being limited to once per turn while Echo's is not.
If he assists on a Ally's basic on their turn then the chances of him hitting twice are Zero it's not like visas Mar who assist when you HIT a sith or gar when you counter attack this is based of a basic ability which allies can only use once a turn. Been running clones for awhile and this week is the first time I've seen him assist more than once on a Ally's basic.
Ezra, Dooku, 5s, and I'm sure I'm missing others all have abilities that allow them to use their basic more than once per turn, even if it's not their turn.
"Attack again" does not mean use basic again. If that was the case, you would see Dooku attacking more than twice. He never does. He attacks twice.
Dooku is the same as Fives and the same as ISC and the same as Ezra and the same as Boba. There is no chance of attacking again after the first extra attack.
This extra attack is labelled "bonus move" and 1 is given in the description of the ability.
Echo's and Chewie's assists are also labelled as Bonus Move.
A counterattack is also a bonus move.
A bonus move gives the character to use his basic ability at whatever Turn Meter the character is. If the basic gives another bonus turn, then it's allowed, but not chained again.
Fives attacks twice if enemy had speed down before the first attack. ISC always attacks twice on counterattack as the enemy has 0% TM. Ezra can attack twice if being called as assist as seen many times on a Revan team, or when counterattacking in a Phoenix team.
Echo's assist and Chewie's assit should not trigger on Bonus Move from basic outcome as they are not in their turn, they are on a bonus move when doing the second attack. The tag Mytrun_marker is checked on Echo to the bonus turn to be triggered. Or at least, it says so on swgoh.gg

Also if there is a tank with 50% turn meter taunting and you hit isc will he counter the tank twice ?
