EP crackling Doom - Not working

I gave EP After the rework Launch the Zeta for bis unique „crackling doom“ which is supposed to work like this:

FINAL TEXT: (ZETA) While Palpatine is active, at the start of each enemy turn, they take damage equal to 20% of their Max Health for each of the following: they are Shocked; they are a Jedi; they are a Rebel. This damage can't defeat enemies. Palpatine has +50% Max Protection, and, when he inflicts Shock, he gains 5% Max Protection until the end of the encounter.

But watching the Health bar of Rebels and Jedis in GW, it seems that the 20% Health damage is not working correctly. If the Enemy goes first, in 9 oft of 10 times i see no health damage taken. If the Enemy Rebell / Jedi has already take damage during the Fight, one can see a more frequent health loss by the enemy.

Does anyone experience the same problems with this?
Seems like a bug.

  • no it works properly. 20% health dmg from ep doesn't ignore protection. it's not like plague. if it was, no rebel or jedi would be arena viable at all anymore

    It's not a bug. While the damage is equal to 20% if the enemy man health, the damage still has to go through protection. Since most toons have more protection than health, and most people prefer protection mods over health mods, it'll take a while to notice the damage.

    Also most Jedi are already not arena viable. No need to add insult to injury

    ikr it would be such a good way to make the game laughably concentrated

    It's a hard counter to gk basically every character has a hard counter but him. I'm so sick of gk being by far the best tank I would be thrilled personally. Not having gk in every squad comp wouldn't add diversity? Everyone says how diverse arena is right now but one constant is gk. Even ep lead squads use him. Getting gk out of meta would improve this game drastically.


    that may or may not be true, but he's talking about all jedi and all rebels, not just GK.
  • yea If you have a character with 30k life and 80k protection then 20% of the max life being removed from the much larger protection pool would seem very small.
  • Throw in a DN for that health down debuff. Can be resisted by Tenacity though.
  • If I understand it correctly: with R2’s number crunch, my GK has 40k health and 85k protection. At the beginning of his turn, he would lose 20% of his health, which is 8k. That 8k is removed from his 85k protection. What you would see would be his protection bar going down about 9%.
