There are several good options, good for different reasons.
zBarriss doesn't increase offensive capability, but she makes the other 4 harder and more annoying to kill.
GMY spreads Foresight and protection up, though a lot of his kit is neutered under Padme lead because she stops tm manipulation. He'll give you tons and tons of buffs.
CAT is currently the best option--huge boost both offensively and defensively thanks to het instakill and unique ability, which is like a fantastic leadership ability basically.
C3P0 will lower your cooldowns a bunch and mess with enemies.
I used R2 for a short while, he's good for the modest stat share and his smoke is a soft taunt on GK.
Shaak Ti provides mass offense up, another way to clear enemy buffs, a single-target heal (well, really two target because she heals herself as well) and her 1st special compliments Padme's heal as a second cleanse ability, as well as granting a strategic buff to an ally.
A slow CWC can stack Courage very high if he avoids being dispelled, then you can unload all the stacks in a sort of nuke.
