It goes off the GP of your top characters. Lots of L65 Gear 8 characters doesn't make a difference overall

Yeah but anyway its way too much stronger opponent..

He doesn't even have many low gear chars.

That’s how matchmaking works.

You can complain about opponent having 600k more than you, if you like, but if you use 36 characters and he uses 36 characters, how is it relevant what the GP of his other characters adds up to?

More toons to choose from for 2nd attempts is the one reasonable argument i could think of. Also having more def variations to save your biggest firepower for offense. Def Squads sort of "win" if they tempt the opponent to use a big team on them.
Anyway, i lost quite a few GAC Rounds but i never felt like i didn't had a chance. I simply made mistakes that were on me.

Some players may not like it and it's totally valid, but GAC is not only about tactics. There is a very important strategical aspect, aka resource management. If you feel that you don't have a chance, it means your opponent did better in this aspect of the game.

Um, yeah. Pretty much what i said?

Typically we would call the 1 with higher total GP bloat, and the 1 with lower total GP better at resource management.

OP's problem is squads and mods.

It’s worse when you get matched up against GL’s and your no way near to getting 1.! Starting to ruin the game for F2P players.

I'm somewhat on the fence on that.

On one hand, I realize it is really frustrating getting matched with an account who's miles ahead of you, even if you are in the same GP bracket - my GP (~2.4m) is bloated from times of old (hey, my G8 R1 team worked wonders back in 2017-2018!), so I constantly get matched with accounts I should be nowhere close to beat (R7 DR/Malaks, Padmes, JKR and Grievous).

On the other hand, I kinda enjoy the challenge. People don't always play it right - if they'd put their proper DR and Padme squads in North/South they'd block me for good (still working on the counters). However, that's not always the case. Tried a new approach and just lost against such an account for a mere 60 banners and it was my fault - those 60 banners also cost me a 3/3 in my GAC group. Next time, it'll go better.

Realize that there are many "unfair" matchups out there. Whales/krakens and/or alt accounts have a definitive advantage over other players in their Divisions. I've even gone against Wat Tambors at 2.1m GP.
