while a bastila team with strong shield renewable on each fight seems great, it didn't work for me at low levels. it's a great investment for later on, but requires high hp on every toon (her shields are based on hp) so it's hard to get going initially, especially before you unlocked 5-star mods and enough credits to level them up, etc.
a barris + kylo unmasked worked much better for me personally, since only those two needed the high hp and left my other slots flexible, working with non-jedi and low-hp high-offense toons, while still guaranteeing i stay topped up between fights.
this also allowed me to swap in situationally needed chars, like palpatine vs jedi, and generally experiment with a couple of slots instead of being locked to just high-hp jedi chars.
even tho there is no great meta team for which to aim with such a combination, i don't feel like i've wasted as much time with my choice as trying to keep three full viable teams at once would require, as people above suggested. i'm 78 now and never even had 2 proper teams, let alone 3.
another trick i used early on in gw was relying on the dark trooper with its hp and 4 stacks being regenerated each fight = 3 acceptable deaths per fight, plus he dishes quadruple damage on his basic attack while he has his stacks, which could one- or two-shot many enemies and take out the biggest threats quickly. units that can call him to assist, like erza or mace, may let you cheese out wins in even more situations. later on i stopped relying on him but he was pretty clutch early.
yet another important advice is to definitely invest in anakin, or get and invest in at least 5-star palpatine, or both, for stopping opponents that rely on high healing, like kylo unmasked, phoenix, barris.
but there will always be some extremes and teams you can't cope with. i've failed (and likely will again) against first order teams that one-shot me, or geonosians that 100-shot-one-turn me, etc. i've struggled against a maxed vader once or twice like op as well, tho probably not as early as 57, so i ultimately managed to cheese a win after enough retries or a sacrifice of another team getting rid of a tank or leader before my main step in, etc.
edit: specifically vs a vader like in the screenshot, maybe ackbar's mass cleanse may come in handy, converting the dot to a heal and letting you survive a couple extra turns and take him down
