I don't think it was specific modded teams - you just needed GAS to force brute your way.
GAS was main damage dealer in both JML and JMK team (especially without CAT which apparently now can't beat JML).
I'm guessing the JML is supposed to be used as a leader and his leadership/ultimate require some buff to compensate changes to GAS. I think even GMY is better under JML lead.
Obviously CG won't buff JML because he's 2nd most popular GL.
