Gen Ani and the 501st team are not representative of their SW characters in any way

I like characters to be representative of their movie/video game/tv series/ Star Wars selves. I like all Star Wars content so it’s essential to me that characters are accurately represented in the game other wise what is the point of them being representations of a character? You might as well have characters who don’t exist or haven’t heard of or play any other strategy game.

I think the devs had done a really good job of this so far, nightsisters revive constantly, grievous hurts his own droids and gets turns when they’re defeated, geos, as OP as they are for some random bugs, swarm attack. Bounty hunters don’t really work together that much as a team but all have tricky survivability tricks that make them hard to kill and deal with individually.

That said, I think the design for clone troopers and gen ani seems to be a really horrible representation of the characters. I made a thread about it before when the clone trooper kits were released about how the clone trooper kits seemed rushed and didn’t make sense

Some of my problems with the representation is that 5s’ sacrifice ability doesn’t make sense to his lore, he died knowing too much, not sacrificing himself for his friends. Rex’s oneshot makes no sense to the lore. He was a hardworking leader and team player, not an offensive individual one on one destroyer like nihilus’ annihilate, that doesn’t fit him.

In general the clone team doesn’t really work together as a tight knit unit in the way they are represented in TCW....... And then we have General Ani.

He led the tight knit unit. By example. He sacrificed himself for his friends and always gave his all putting himself in harm’s way, doing the best thing for everyone else.

Now we look at the 501st team and how is this represented? The clones barely help at all, the team gets dominated by DR, then anakin 1v4s them. He does it all alone!! The clones have barely any impact or role in the fight!

And how is ani represented? He taunts at the beginning of the fight taking damage for them on, and then as soon as he gets a little bit hurt and his teammates are in trouble, he just sits down in the middle of battle and let’s his teammates get slaughtered? If anyone in the whole SW universe wouldn’t sit down in the middle of a fight, it’s anakin, he’s a rash, impulsive, caring guy who did everything for his brethren, not sit down when they’re in trouble. Literally this whole team doesn’t represent the SW characters in any way.

On the positive side I think it’s great that padme can beat gen ani, cos just making one team after another simply the best and most unbeatable in the game is literally power creep that will ruin or arguably has ruined the game. Now maybe we can have different teams beating each other. But I think they really screwed this team up conceptually. Hopefully they will pay more attention to character representation in the future although I must admit it’s a hard job to balance this game and make characters representative especially given the power levels we have reached already.

TLDR - this team doesn’t represent the characters in any way and that is a shame as this game is a representation of Star Wars characters

It's because following lore 100% is very difficult in making a game since it's hard to balance it out

Really agree, I did say that in my post. But they have done it pretty well otherwise. I do still think they could have done WAY better

And I do think they have brought in on themselves to some extent with releasing the revans, they kind of backed themselves into a corner with what they can and can’t do now. It was an unnecessary level of power creep.

One thing I forgot to mention in my post is that GAS’ leader offers no real team benefits. That’s also really unrepresentative and silly. The team doesn’t stick together and isn’t unified by the leader he is, the leadership is more like a unique. It’s a wasted chance to make the team around him good and just means the team is basically a one-man show. And on your point, they made him able to beat malak, with giving barely any team benefits, i mean theres only the crit damage and situational extra offense, imagine what they could have done if they’d given him a leader ability that really pulls the team together.
