Since speed is important is also not a good advice like "if toon x go first, fight is easy" - if you only can go first because you have way better mods than your opponent this trick can't be replicated from other players here since they basically don't have the same mods (or other opponents).
The common situation is, that TFP is faster and will go before chirrut (both players have the same mod level) and the solution should not be "try to be faster" ;) and as you can see above, Lando/AA lead can work to push your speed but will tend to a "soft team" for other opponents that maybe instantly attack you unless you switch.
