I was just able to beat it with the following squad:
Mace 7*, G9, lvl 85 - ship lvl 77
CS 7*, G11, lvl 85 - ship 6*, lvl 78
Fives 7*, G11, lvl 85 - ship 6*, lvl 75
Rex 7*, G11, lvl 85 - ship 6*, lvl 72
Biggs 7*, G10, lvl 85 - ship 6*, lvl 75
Ahsoka 7*, G10, lvl 85 - ship 6*, lvl 75
JC 7*, G8, lvl 70 - ship 5*, lvl 70
Wedge 7*, G10, lvl 85 - ship 5*, lvl 70
Plo 4*, G7, lvl 72 - ship 5*, lvl 74
I didn't try the challenge for a while because I got tired of getting crushed so it's possible you can clear it with less than what I used. I didn't have to use Plo and can't remember if I had to use Wedge - I don't think I did. I took the FOTFs out first and worked from there.
Sorry, just realized you said 5*. This was what I used to 6* it. For 5*, it was the same lineup minus Plo. My characters' star, gear, and level were the same, ships were 5* and level 60-70.
