Help Understanding Speed

Baze gains Turn meter when opponents get buffs and CLS grants Turn meter when he lands debuffs.

^ just about to say that. Depending on whether it's zetad, he can also grant a little tm if you resist his debuffs. So he basically grants tm either way

Okay i see that now, still don't get how Blaze got two turns before FOTrooper. I only attacked him once with CLS to remove buffs then went after leia.

I would recommend using R2s stealth special first rather than his burn ability.

They probably did, which would be a contributor to Baze's tm. That's 6 buffs already, 30% tm for Baze, and Baze will just clear the stealth

Yeah maybe, the whole blaze and chirrut is just annoying. It's like fighting two times at once.

Still question how blaze got two moves before FOT got one. 197 speed should at least get him one turn.

I'm gonna go out on a limb OP buffed his ATF with her meditate (10%), buffed his Luke as well (5%), and then probably finished off with Ackbar's Tactical Genius (25%)... that's a lot of TM for Baze.... depending on when exactly Baze went the first time (probably before Ackbar) it could easily be enough for the two turns OP mentioned.

What did you not understand from Baze gains TM when you give buffs to your allies? You give them all Stealth with R2? Congrats - their Baze will now get a turn. You give them all Ackbar's special buff? Good, Baze gained a ton of TM once again.

I did rs fire, ashoka mediate, cls swipe, and ackbar genius. Blaze went after after CLS and then again after ackbar. +25 % turn meter for ackbar genius is not enough to catch a 197 speed FOT. Since he went after CLS all those TM gains are gone and starts back with +25 from ackbar. So how did blaze get the other 75% TM to go before FOT again?

You are right of course, but I think the confusion lies with the difference between speed and TM push mechanics like Baze (and also the fact that people still love to complain about Chaze even though they fell from dominance like every character always has).

TM push (percent turn meter gain) is far more effective than straight speed. It's the reason JE made droids awesome back in the day, the reason SA was such a huge addition to Sith teams, the reason Rex lead dominated the meta, and, yes, the reason Baze seems to go all the time against buff heavy teams in spite of his abysmal speed.

TLDR: Always be aware of push mechanics and TM removal, they're more effective than your base speed.
