You are right, he was never really good. But his lead was good, and by extension it made many other droids good. I am fine with HK being reworked, but now droids have had an essential leader taken away. Now the target lock squad of HK, 88, T3, IPD, and L3 is without a leader. Some people put a lot of zetas and gear into a team that now has to work under an 88 lead or even Lobot.
