I'm not sure if I get EA's angle on TB making credits the penultimate item to crystals in this game. There is no way for us to buy or focus on credits besides waiting around. What is the point of maki...

As someone who's played on both sides of this factor, I can say that the credit influx you have is entirely calculated, and only works well for you in a guild that runs the maximum raids possible weekly, or very near to the maximum. And, of course, it relies on you completing the credit heist at maximum tier.
I had a major credit shortage for a long time. I'm still catching up, but ever since joining my current guild, the credit crunch is vastly reduced, and I'm making headway. I actually have most of my characters' star levels finished (as in, they don't have more than enough shards to upgrade to their next level).
So, TL;DR, the credit crunch is real, but it can be motivated by an awesome guild. Best of luck in getting your needed credits.
