You just need to be a little prophetic about the meta. There have been like 3 metas in some months in the last year: CLS, then JTR and now EP, with a very short NS moment. While you try to figure out the next meta, just keep up with these and keep in mind that maybe in the past it wasn't so, but now the OPness of the meta characters they release makes almost sure that they will never leave the meta. They will surely get outclassed by the shiny new one, but they'll always remain in the meta. I still run CLS and through some good mods I almost always manage to wreck those trash can-based JTR teams.
