How to Best Split Empire and Sith? Help!

I'm struggling to find the best, most effective way to split up my Darkside based only upon the toons I have. Think of this as an interesting puzzle to solve given the parameters (I sometimes get weird responses here where people tell me I MUST farm so-and-so, and if I don't or won't, they literally yell at me. It's strange. Please don't do that).

Ok, here's my Dark Side: https://swgoh.gg/u/ahsokatano/collection/?f=Dark+Side . It's always been sort of weak, but it's time for me to finally focus on them! I'm lost as to who to beef up and how to split them, though.

For the purposes of TW/TB, I need two solid teams: one Empire and one Sith. Currently, what I'm doing is Palp (L), Maul, Savage, Dooku, and Sidious for Sith, and Thrawn (L), Vader, Royal Guard, Tarkin, and TIE Pilot for Empire. None of these characters have Zetas.

I'll have one zeta ready in just a bit, and the spending of it is causing me some headscratching:

1) I could Zeta Palp and leave him with Sith, as-is.
2) I could Zeta Palp and swap him into Empire, leaving Maul to lead a now-mediocre Sith that includes my 5-Star Sith Assassin. Weak.
3) I could swap Palp into Empire as above, but Zeta MAUL so at least the leftover Sith team has some hope of survival.
4) I could leave everyone where they are and just Zeta Thrawn's Ebb and Flow.
5) I could Zeta Vader and leave him to run Sith, putting Palp back in charge of Empire.
6) I also guess I could leave everyone where they are and just Zeta Vader, putting him in charge of Empire, but I'm pretty sure Thrawn's lead is stronger.

So what do I do? Am I missing an alternative here, or a different toon that would fit better? We'll have to skip on the pay-to-play toons, I'm not going to buy myself a 7-star Sith Marauder, for example, much as I'd like to. ; )

Thank you for helping me figure this out!

  • Unpopular opinion. But i strongly believe these are the best teams you can make with your current toons.

Maul (zeta lead), Savage, dooku, sid, royal guard.
Palp (non zeta lead), vader, thrawn, tfp, tarkin.

From personal experience, zeta of palp lead doesn't make much difference in early parts of tb. I.e. below P6. A non zeta, all round g10, palp led team can 4/4 it.

Those teams may not look good on paper, but; If you can try and hold onto the zeta, try palp lead without zeta in the next ds tb and you'll know.

Ps. Above is considering you absolutely wanna zeta one of those and to help with TB/TW.
