How to optimize my squads

I precise : I ask advice for the game begining, I know these toons are for most of them begining characters and not optimized for a squad.

personally i would say stop farming all of those and focus all your farming on unlocking, leveling and gearing Phoenix squad. They work so well early game and can help you walk GW with ease, they will also help you in the arena and with ships when you get that far! good luck!

I agree. Farm Phoenix for now. Phoenix -> Palp -> Thrawn -> R2 -> CLS

Sadly, CG dropped a clanger with the setup for new players. The only way to get decent toons is Phoenix, unless you bypass those and beeline straight for CLS (Commander Luke Skywalker, you'll pick up the abbreviations).

The issue with Phoenix is gear, which is why most people who aren't lunatics like myself get G8 and stop there. 8 is bad enough, believe me.

G8 Phoenix can *just* about do Thrawn at 7* but that sounded like hours of work, so I went ahead and geared my Phoenix up a little more and it was still painful. I'd wait until you start swimming in a few more resources until doing Phoenix and maybe go for a Wiggs team with some of the OG rebels (those can do Palp at least).

The game soon stops being any level of fun once you get locked down in a long farm like Phoenix.

You'll get Tarkin for free, you can soon knock out Stormtrooper, you can get palp with OG rebels, Vader will happen when he happens and maybe get Veers or somebody else to fill the 5th slot.

Now I'm saying the above mainly because the only answer anybody ever gives in these topics is Phoenix, I'm trying to provide alternatives which are much easier to gear than Phoenix. The synergy of Phoenix is insane though

I suppose you could farm Phoenix a bit to maybe 5* and get Thrawn that way, as a 5* Thrawn is nothing to sniff at.

Sadly Farmboy Luke is kind of a wasted toon slot really but he's needed for CLS, the other 4 are OK to great though. ST han, Old Ben, Leia and R2. CLS can solo the rancor which is the best raid for gear bar none (will help you with Phoenix), tank is pretty garbage, and STR is diabolically bad.

So there you go, an alternate route if you don't want to go the same way as everybody else. I didn't go that route myself but I kinda wish I did.

I would argue that out of the Phoenix bunch, Ezra is well worth the gear though and I have taken him to G11. Makes Thrawn easier to get to 7*, he is a key player to the new Jedi under Bastilla and he is a Rebel for Palpatine and a Jedi for GM Yoda so a worthy investment.
Albeit those are mid\end game events it still wouldn't hurt to invest in him early on.

For your dark side squad, stop working on Dooku and start on Tie fighter pilot. Both toons are not the best later in the game, but tie fighter pilot has a great ship when you unlock fleet battles, and has synergy with your tarkin lead. Tarkin himself has a good capital ship for fleets, and snowtrooper (imperial troopers) and talia(nightsisters) are important parts of late game squads that can be used in guild events and raids. The investment in these four will not be wasted. Farming these three imperial toons will also take you closer to unlocking R2D2, and if you focus on pheonix for light side, you will also have thrawn and emperor palpatine to add into your R2 event squad. The other dark side toon I would consider is a tank. You have Royal guard developed a bit, but to be honest, stormtrooper is more useful later in the game(at least until you get the good late game dark side tanks such as Shoretrooper and Sion).

Getting Phoenix early will also help with getting resources (more of it) from Galactic War and they can clear all light side battles both normal and hard as well as cantina and mod battles.

I am not very old player (less than 3 months) and only level 76 but I found that it is hard to get anything like that going on dark side battles.

And since you got First Order Executioner you could try farming rest of them for your alternative dark side team.

There are quite a few very good videos for new players in this section on forum so when you get a chance you can watch them and see what they suggest to farm first and from where.

I ll stop invest a lot on the current squads and try to farm the Phoenix team and focus on some troopers worthing the investment !

He was talking about the Imperial one, but you'll want to farm the First Order one as well.
