Actually with regards to Snowtrooper you'll likely find he's one of the more common drops from Bronzium packs. At least in my experience. Mine is on his way to 6* just from that and certain assault battles.
But Veers is pretty solid,a key part of your anti-Nightsister team and a mandatory part of your Imperial Probe droid acquisition. He does really need his zeta to excel though, which you won't have to worry about for a while.
