So I can't reliably kill anything meta as soon as the meta squad has even one relic toon. Can't kill Padme (had a little luck with relic Nest, but she gets toasted by Ahsoka and sometimes by Anaki...

You could very much be wrong about that. There are a lot of nuances with counter teams and modding. CLS team is often a very bad counter to a well-modded Padme team.
