Check the new player subforum here. You will find links to farming guides for new players.

Consider starting an alt. Play both accounts until you choose which one you prefer playing.

If your playing for fun just continue where you left off, if your a competitive player they restart.

This. The game has evolved a lot since you last played. It will be easier and faster to reproduce the progress you had so far. The arena argument is also noteworthy. By now people in your old accounts arenas will have maxed out teams putting you a year behind at least, considering you want to be F2P. If you want to spend money a 100 bucks will get you the hyperbundle and give you a stronger roster than you had in the old acc.
