I think the current arena pay out system is toxic. It basically rewards those who are able to get other players to quit. I think it's time that we move arena payouts to highest rank achieved that day. Since that payout system would be considerably too easy they should probably start merging the older shards together into 3 or 4 month groups. I know on my shard we have a crazy busy payout where the majority of the top 20 shares 1 hour and all but a few are of the rest are on the hour after. I have seen plenty of people quit or severely reduce play due to our collusion at the top of the shard. It's time to freshen up arena for the health of the game.

I don't think that merging leaderboards is the best way to prevent collusion, it's simply too difficult to do fairly.

If you merge shards, people will just reconnect and repeat the same process

Highest rank during the day sounds too awesome. CG wouldn't let that happen sadly. I think it would devalue crystals.

It is easy to do. I agree with op.

Something needs to be done.

I posted a viable solution to it.

Essentially shuffle all the shards, do away with player names and guild names, show top 50 with ability to see roster and mods without player names... and finally post a report button next each team in top 50 in case it looks like other things are fishy with that team that would suggest they should not be at that rank.

Many of those teams already in the top 50 are in these external shard chat servers as is. That is how an UP, (under powered) team takes first place.

Both squad and fleet. Plus same structure if guild vrs guild comes out.

Average rank would be a better way to manage payouts although it won't completely remove collusion. I can already see players "vowing" not to attack each other and bullying others.
